Starting this January, the cost of DNA testing will rise by Sh7,000, from Sh20,000 to Sh27,000.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, January 8, KEMRI noted, “We wish to inform our valued customers of a marginal price adjustment for the DNA Testing Service from Sh20,000 to Sh27,000 starting this January 2025.”

Additionally, DNA tests are used in criminal investigations to identify suspects or victims and in personal cases where individuals seek to confirm biological relationships for peace of mind or medical purposes.
The laboratory serves both private clients and those referred by the courts, highlighting its critical role in resolving complex legal and personal matters.
The revised pricing reflects KEMRI's commitment to maintaining the accuracy and reliability of its services amid growing demand and rising operational costs.
