International and domestic tourists traveling across Africa will benefit from Safe Travels, a new emergency response plan unveiled by Rescue.co, during this festive season.

The plan offers quick assistance to tourists and adventure seekers while visiting urban centers, safari parks, and remote regions, including those taking part in high-risk activities.

It offers air evacuation resources located near popular high-risk destinations, with Rescue.co equipped to tackle emergencies like altitude sickness with unexpected injuries or illnesses.

“Our goal is to empower travelers to explore Africa with confidence, knowing they have immediate access to lifesaving help anywhere on the continent,” said Rescue Co-CEO Caitlin Dolkart.

Safe Travels provides varied emergency services including ground and air evacuations, with a fleet of 67 fixed-wing and 7 rotary aircraft offering medevac services to ensure success.

It also offers roadside assistance and security, with coverage options like towing, fuel delivery, and vehicle support across Kenya and a 25-minute average response time.

Rescue.co says the company also offers round-the-clock medical and security response teams to handle emergencies on the road or in high-risk situations.

Savage Wilderness Managing Director James Savage noted that most insurance products don’t cover emergency rescue operations leaving many in trouble when tragedy strikes.

“For anybody who's coming to Kenya or East Africa, whether for adventure, safari, or business—a Rescue.co cover is invaluable. That will give them and their families back home the peace of mind that if something goes wrong, Rescue.co can get them to a world class facility, within a very short period of time,” stated Savage.

The firm also leverages its technology platform, Flare, to connect travelers with more than 1,000 first responders in countries lacking 911 or 999 public emergency response systems.

Through its dispatch hub in Kenya, and more than 800 ambulances and 70 aircraft, Safe Travels says this ensures access to emergency help anywhere in Africa within minutes.

Safe Travels covers Africa (excluding Sudan and Somalia) and offers membership options starting at $25 for Kenya, $50 for EAC region and $125 for the rest of Africa for 30 days.
