President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday ordered his Cabinet and staff in the Executive Office to go get vaccinated for Covid-19 as the more vicious third wave threatens to get out of hand.
Nzioka Waita, the Chief of Staff in the Office of the President, said the government was upscaling the national Covid-19 vaccination program and wanted to lead by example.
“Headed the call receiving the jab Friday morning under the guidance of the Ministry of Health vaccination team,” said Waita alongside a photo of himself receiving the jab.

This comes as the government initially indicated that top state officers and politicians were not on the vaccination priority list as the first Covid-19 vaccine arrives three weeks ago.
A fortnight ago, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe also said he would not jump the queue and get the jab since he was not on the priority list.
There have been jitters among Kenyans led by doctors, frontline health workers and security officials who were listed as top priority to receive the initial doses of AstraZeneca vaccines.
