750 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Kenya, according to details revealed on Friday by the Ministry of Health, out of 6,264 samples tested in the past 24 hours.

According to Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, the total number of positive cases confirm cumulatively in the country since the first case was reported last year now stand at 111,935.

“Cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,358,390. From the cases 702 are Kenyans while 48 are foreigners. 411 are males and 339 are females. The youngest is a one-year-old baby while the oldest is 100,” said Kagwe in a statement.

Kagwe said 215 patients recovered from the virus; 122 from Home Based and Isolation Care and 93 from various health facilities across the country bringing total recoveries to 88,209.

However, two patients died after contracting Coronavirus pushing the total fatalities in Kenya to 1,901.

A total of 632 patients remain admitted to various health facilities across Kenya; 96 are in ICU, 23 on ventilatory support, 59 on supplemental oxygen and 14 are under observation.

40 more patients are separately on supplementary oxygen; 38 in the general wards and two in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
