The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Kenya has increased in the past 24 hours with 465 more people tested positive for the virus being recorded bringing the case load in the country to 108,827.

The samples tested in the past 24 hours in Kenya were 5,691, with the new Coronavirus patients including 422 Kenyans and 43 foreigners, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Health.

In the same period, two more patients succumbed to the virus pushing total fatalities in Kenya to 1,876.

According to the Health Ministry, 20 more patients recovered from the deadly virus; 17 from various health facilities across the country while three were from the Home Based and Isolation Care.

The total recoveries from Covid-19 recorded in Kenya now stand at 87,570.

The Mutahi Kagwe-led ministry said 488 patients remain admitted at various health facilities across the country as 1,394 other patients are being taken care of under the Home Based Isolation and Care.

According to the ministry, 69 patients are currently in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with 23 of them on ventilatory support and 36 on supplemental oxygen, while 10 are on close observation.
