A total of 400 new people tested positive for Covid-19 out of 5,189 samples which were tested in the last 24 hours, amid a resurgence of infections bringing total confirmed cases in Kenya to 107,729. 

The new numbers announced by the Ministry of Health on Friday raises cumulative tests in the country to 1,322,806, with the new patients including 367 Kenyans and 33 foreigners.

During the same period, three patients succumbed to the ailment raising national fatalities to 1,873.

248 of the new Coronavirus patients are male and 154 are female, with the youngest being a nine-month-old baby and the oldest aged 95.

Similarly, 77 virus patients recovered from the deadly virus in the past 24 hours; 50 were from various health facilities while 27 are from Home Based and Isolation Care.

Total virus recoveries in Kenya now stand at 87,176 as the government rolled out phase 1 of the national vaccination programme after receiving 1.02 million doses .
