A total of 280 more people tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday out of 4,919 samples that were tested in the past 24 hours, raising the confirmed infections in Kenya to 104,780.

The Ministry of Health 221 of the new virus patients are Kenyans and 59 are foreigners, with

173 being males and 107 females.

According to the health ministry, the youngest new Coronavirus patient is three years old and the oldest is 89.

In a statement, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said that 713 patients had recovered from the disease; 676 from Home Based and Isolation Care and 37 discharged from various health facilities.

The fresh recoveries bring the total recoveries across Kenya to 86,378, even as two more patients succumbed to Covid-19, increasing the cumulative fatalities in the country to 1,839.
