According to the latest poll released by research firm Infotrak, healthcare workers have taken the top spot for their work on the frontline in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic in Kenya.

In the opinion poll in which Infotrak polled 800 respondents in 24 counties, healthcare workers were followed by the media as the best performing sectors in the year 2020.

Medics led with 70%, media followed with 60% and President Uhuru Kenyatta ranked third with 46% as the Church followed in fourth place with 45%, according to the poll released on Sunday.

The poll done from December 27 to 29 last year showed that majority of Kenyans felt police, National Assembly, Senate and county governments performed poorly with 45%, 39%, 35% and 31% respectively.

Also, 65% percent of respondents felt the government did a poor job of running the Kenyan economy in 2020, while 42% expressed confidence that the economy will turn around in 2021.

But 47% of Kenyans ranked the government’s handling of the pandemic in an average manner.
