Gina Din Group Managing Director Lorna Irungu-Macharia is dead.

The media personality and renowned communications strategist succumbed to Covid-19 complications at karen Hospital in Nairobi on Monday after a battle over the last few weeks.

Irungu’s husband Edwin Macharia only managed to post a broken heart emoji on her official Twitter account to announce the demise of his wife on Monday.

Irungu once hosted the popular Omo-Pick-A-Box tv game show in the early 90s and was also a thespian and later was a presenter on Nation fm before joining the PR world to rise to become the Gina Din Group Managing Director.


She is well known for being a Lupus survivor for more than 20 years and had undergone numerous kidney procedures and has been celebrated for her brilliance and resilience.

Lorna will be interred on Tuesday March 23 at a private family function, with the date of a virtual celebration of her life to be communicated to her friends and colleagues later.
