Award-winning movies star Will Smith got out of character and slapped his fellow movie star and stand-up comedian Chris Rock during the 94th Academy Awards ceremony.

Chris made one of his cutting jokes about Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hairless head and likened her to Demi Moore from the movie G.I. Jane.

He was on stage to present the best documentary feature at the Oscars when he cracked the joke only for the joke to turn on him.

"Jada, I love you, 'G.I. Jane 2,' can’t wait to see it," Chris quipped.

That is when all hell broke loose. Will who was sitting somewhere in the front row walked onto the stage and delivered a hot slap across Chris’ face before walking back to his seat.

Will’s action left Lupita Nyong’o who was sitting next to him bewildered probably wondering how fast things turned grim.

Will went ahead and warned Chris amid throwing in some unprintable words to keep Jada’s name out of his mouth to which Chris said he was going to.

Later in the event, Smith won his first Oscar for his portrayal of Richard Williams, the father of Venus and Serena Williams, in King Richard.

Apparently, Jada has been suffering from a condition called alopecia.

Alopecia areata can be described as sudden hair loss that starts with one or more circular bald patches that may overlap.

Alopecia areata occurs when the immune system attacks hair follicles and may be caused by severe stress.
