The winner of the Khaligraph Jones Rap Challenge #OdiNare that began weeks ago was unveiled on Tuesday.

Upcoming rapper Katapilla emerged winner and was awarded Sh 1,000,000 as it was promised by promoters.

There were six finalists in the rap challenge who submitted their challenges and fans had to vote for them. The Kibera born rapper amassed top votes.

While speaking during the unveiling event, Katapilla was grateful to everyone who supported him, urging people to continue listening and supporting local music.

“Sina Mengi ya Kusema leo but God Bless Everybody who voted, Nashukuru sana, Hii ni life-changing kwangu. Na muendelea kuskiza Kenyan Hip Hop. God Bless You,” said Katapilla.

Katapilla was followed closely by rapper Ben C who walked away with Sh 500,000 while the third position was taken by Real Elai who won Sh 300,000

The rest, who were in positions four five and six, were awarded Sh 50,000 each. They were; Achicho SoftWare, Murasta and Shekina Karen.

While congratulating the participants, Khaligraph Jones who partnered with Odibets to make the Odinare Rap Challenge a success, said they were not expecting it to turn into such a big thing.

He concluded by stating that he hopes for a second season that would be in a more organized and structured manner.
