Kenyan artiste Kevin Kioko, popularly known as Bahati, has for the first time issued a public apology to his baby mama Yvette Obura and their daughter Mueni.

According to Bahati, he apologized to the two beautiful queens for neglecting them at a time when they needed him the most. He admitted that for over 2 years he left Obura taking care of Mueni all alone.

The star further mentioned that he had demanded a DNA test two years later to confirm if he really sired the baby with Obura.

Taking to his Instagram account, Bahati penned a touching message issuing the apology. The message read;

"I was at the peak of my career as a gospel artiste then, just after I was awarded as the male artist of The Year Groove Awards and AFRIMA’s best gospel Act in Africa then I was surrounded by heavy judgement. I ended up being a hypocrite not being proud of my blood. I hope I’m not opening up so much, but I think this is another opportunity to ask for forgiveness from the mum and my daughter for keeping you a secret and away from the public for almost two years. It’s never what I wished for but because of what I lived for." Bahati wrote in part.

While agreeing that he was a hypocrite and a pretender at that time and hiding behind the gospel music Industry, Bahati said he was sorry and would not leave with his daughter again.

According to the gospel turned secular singer, he will always appreciate Obura’s understanding and for always showing maturity while facing their past challenges.

“My daughter, thank you for coming into my world and giving me the title father and to you, mama Mueni, thank you for choosing peace above violence and creating a conducive environment as we both raise this beautiful princess,” he said.

Bahati was also happy that she is on good terms with his wife Diana Marua, stating that the positivity that they portray is an inspiration not only to him but also to other families.

While concluding his lengthy post, Bahati said that he had seen she’s off the market, adding that he would be honoured to be invited to her wedding ceremony.

“Pia niliona kwa blogs umepata mtu handsome. Please, I will be honoured to be invited to your wedding; may God bless your life, journey and all you do in Jesus name,” Bahati concluded.
