Safaricom shareholders are set to receive an interim dividend of Sh0.55 per ordinary share for the financial year ending 31st March 2025, following a resolution by the company’s board.

The telecommunications giant confirmed the decision after its board meeting held on Wednesday.

According to a notice issued by the company, the dividend will be payable to shareholders registered by the close of business on March 3, 2025, with payments expected to be made on or about March 31, 2025.

“The Board of Safaricom PLC is pleased to announce that at its meeting held on February 12, 2025, it was resolved to approve payment of an interim dividend of Sh0.55 per ordinary share for the year ending March 31, 2025,” the company stated.

The announcement, signed by Acting Company Secretary Linda Wambani on February 13, 2025, follows Safaricom’s tradition of rewarding shareholders with interim dividends ahead of the final payout.

Safaricom remains a key player in Kenya’s capital markets, and its dividend policy continues to attract investors seeking steady returns.

Shareholders will be keen to see how the company performs in the remainder of the financial year, particularly in light of evolving market conditions and competition in the telecommunications sector.
