Jambojet has announced the temporary suspension of its Nairobi-Goma flights, effective Monday citing safety concerns and the closure of Goma’s airspace as the key reasons behind the decision.

In a statement released on the same day, the airline assured its customers that their security remains a top priority.

"The safety and security of our guests and staff is our utmost priority. We are closely monitoring these developments and will deliberate on the next steps together with key stakeholders both in Goma and Nairobi," the statement read.

Jambojet also confirmed that their Customer Service team has reached out to all affected passengers and JM Cargo clients through official communication channels to address the disruptions caused.

The suspension comes amidst growing unrest in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which has led to increased challenges in air travel safety.

While no timeline has been given for the resumption of the route, the airline expressed its regret for the inconvenience caused.

"We apologize for the inconvenience caused and thank you most sincerely for your understanding," Jambojet added.

Travellers and cargo clients are advised to stay updated through Jambojet's official platforms as the situation evolves.

The airline’s decision highlights the challenges of operating in volatile regions, with passenger safety taking precedence over service continuity.
