Absa Bank Kenya on Friday continued to conduct its ambitious endeavors to enable Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) across Kenya to efficiently rake in more profits and scale.

During a forum in Kisumu, the bank played host to more than 200 business leaders during its Business Club Forum with the session being part of the Absa Bank’s Western Kenya Caravan.

Similar engagements by Absa Bank Business Club were held in Kericho, Busia, Bungoma, Kisii, Migori, and Homa Bay counties to connect small and medium businesses with industry leaders.

Erastus Muthura, Absa Bank Kenya Head of Small and Medium Enterprise, indicated that the bank will continue supporting SMEs led by women, youth and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

“At Absa, we believe that every story is unique and therefore support our clients with financial and non-financial skills to scale their businesses,” said Muthura.

He added: “As a Bank, we provide access to sustainable finance, information, markets and coaching and mentorship.”

He noted that the bank is present in 12 countries across Africa and encouraged Absa bank customers to take advantage of the chances accorded by the varied markets in the continent.

Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kisumu Chapter Chairman, Israel Agina, noted that the bank’s initiative targeting SMEs played a pivotal role developing the economy.

“We are grateful to Absa for their support today as we discuss issues of resilience and for supporting SMEs during the tough economic times,” indicated Agina.

Absa Bank Kenya has, through its renowned Business Club, hosted such forums in Nakuru, Mombasa and Nyeri counties and is slated to hold others in the Rift Valley region next week.
