Kenya Railways has officially announced the resumption of two crucial commuter and passenger train services, offering a significant boost to the nation’s transportation network.

In statement a issued by the Managing Director on Tuesday, the commuter train service from Kahawa West to Nairobi Central Station is set to recommence operations on Wednesday.

According to the updated schedule, the train will leave Kahawa West at 9:00 am, reaching Nairobi Central Station by 10:00 am.

"We are pleased to inform the public that the Kahawa West to Nairobi Central Station Commuter train will resume service on Wednesday July 10, 2024," the statement read.

This move aims to ease the commute for many daily passengers and restore an essential link within the city.

Further enhancing the connectivity, the Nanyuki Safari Train will also resume its passenger services starting Friday.

"We are pleased to inform the public that the Nanyuki Passenger Service train will resume service on Friday July 12, 2024," Kenya Railways said.

The train is scheduled to depart from Nairobi Central Station every Friday at 9:00 am and from Nanyuki Station every Sunday at 9:00 am, providing a convenient and scenic travel option for weekend travellers.

Kenya Railways expressed gratitude for the public's patience and understanding during the service suspension.
