MultiChoice, the prominent South African-based entertainment company, has announced plans to adjust subscription fees upwards for its DStv and GOtv packages, effective from next month.

The decision comes as part of the company's initiative to enhance service delivery and ensure sustainability in the face of changing economic dynamics.

According to MultiChoice, the decision to increase the monthly charges stems from a thorough review of its economic outlook.

As a result, subscribers can expect modifications across various packages, tailored to maintain service quality while accommodating the challenging economic landscape.

Beginning with the DStv Premium bouquet, subscribers will see a rise from the current rate of Sh9,900 to Sh10,500. Similarly, the costs for other DStv packages will also witness adjustments.

The DStv Compact Plus, DStv Compact, and DStv Family packages will now be priced at Sh6,500, Sh3,700, and Sh2,000, respectively, up from their previous rates.

However, amidst these changes, the subscription fee for the DStv Access package will remain unchanged at Sh1,300.

For GOtv subscribers, the GOtv Max Bouquet will be available at Sh1,499, while the GOtv SUPA Bouquet will see a slight increase to Sh1,999.

In an official statement, MultiChoice Kenya confirmed the pricing adjustments, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining service quality amidst economic challenges.

"Multichoice Kenya can confirm it has adjusted the prices of its DStv and Gotv packages for 2024,” MultiChoice announced.

The company acknowledged the prevailing economic difficulties but assured subscribers that the increase was kept at the lowest feasible level to ensure both sustainability and continued provision of quality services.

This adjustment comes after MultiChoice revised its prices upwards in July of the preceding year, citing factors such as currency fluctuations as contributing to the decision.

MultiChoice's decision to adjust subscription fees reflects a broader trend within the entertainment industry as companies strive to balance economic realities with the need to sustain quality services for their customers.

Subscribers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the new rates to avoid any service disruptions.
