In a stern warning to manufacturers and distributors of counterfeit agricultural supplies, President William Ruto has declared that perpetrators will face the full force of the law.

Speaking against the backdrop of a recent incident in Kakamega County, where 700 bags of fertiliser were seized by detectives due to alleged adulteration, President Ruto emphasized the government's commitment to stamping out the menace of counterfeit agricultural products.

"We are going to make sure that those who sell fake seeds and fake fertiliser face the music that they deserve," Ruto affirmed, underscoring the government's resolve to tackle the menace head-on.

Highlighting recent developments, Ruto revealed, "Just today, we have arrested some of the characters who want to take advantage of our fertiliser supply programme and we have already many more who are facing court."

Emphasizing the gravity of the situation, Ruto reiterated the government's determination to thwart any attempts aimed at sabotaging its agricultural initiatives.

"We must deal with those who want to sabotage our fertiliser subsidy programme," he asserted.

Subsequent to the seizure, samples from the impounded bags have been collected by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for comprehensive analysis to ascertain the authenticity of the confiscated fertiliser.
