East Africa Breweries Limted (EABL) in November 2023 kicked off production at its Sh1.2 billion microbrewery rights next to Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL) main plant in Ruaraka.

According to EABL Group Chief Executive and Managing Director Jane Karuku, the new production facility has been established to explore innovation and experimentation.

The site, whose ground was broken in May 2023, has seen the roll out its the firm’s first commercial product brand, Manyatta, a new apple cider, alongside three flavoured variants: Mango & Ginger; Lemon & Ginger; and Pineapple & Mint.

Swala Nyeti got an opportunity to tour the spanking new microbrewery in Ruaraka, Nairobi to find out more about the microbrewery meant to expand EABL’s innovation capabilities in the alcohol manufacturing sector.
