Konza Technopolis, the ambitious technology and innovation city located in Machakos County, has entered into a strategic partnership with the Special Economic Zone Authority (SEZA) to expedite its transformation into a fully-fledged Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

This collaboration aims to unlock the economic potential of the burgeoning tech hub, positioning it as a prime investment and innovation destination.

The partnership, announced during a meeting between the two organizations, brings together the collective expertise and resources of Konza Technopolis and SEZA.

The CEO of Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA), John Paul Okwiri, expressed his optimism about the new collaboration, emphasizing its significance in realizing the economic ambitions of Konza.

"Today’s gathering marks a pivotal moment in our journey towards realizing the full potential of Konza Technopolis as a Special Economic Zone," Okwiri noted.

"We are honoured to host the SEZA Board and management, as their insights and collaboration are instrumental in shaping the continued success of our ambitious venture."

On his part, SEZA CEO Ken Chelule shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, acknowledging its potential to elevate Konza to the global stage as a prominent hub for investments.

"SEZA is pleased to have engaged in this productive dialogue with Konza Technopolis," Chelule stated.

"This strategic partnership holds immense potential for both organizations as we work collectively to position Konza Technopolis as an innovation and investment destination while contributing to the economic growth in Kenya."
