10 more counties signed up for Safaricom’s MyCounty App, which allows residents to pay for services offered by county governments and engage county leaders seamlessly.

Since MyCounty App was unveiled in Makueni in April, Safaricom has onboarded Nairobi, Uasin Gishu, Samburu, Bomet, Narok, Kitui, Busia, Kilifi, Elgeyo Marakwet and Kajiado counties.

Speaking during the ongoing Devolution Conference in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa lauded counties for embracing digitization of their services.

“Digitising devolution is a collaborative agenda bringing together the public and private sector to serve all Kenyans,” said Ndegwa.

MyCounty Apps are available on Android, iOS, on M-Pesa Super App as a Mini App, on USSD and on the Web for desktop and laptop channels.

“With guidance from the leadership of various counties, Safaricom is integrating the MyCounty App channels to the various systems,” added Ndegwa.

Safaricom and the Council of Governors (COG) also signed an MoU to partner on the setting up of an IT security and related cyber security guidelines, own source revenue, strengthen knowledge management through Maarifa Centre, CSR activities and capacity building.
