Roam celebrated a significant milestone with the inauguration of Roam Park by President  Ruto, signifying not only a major achievement for the company but also for the entire nation.

The state-of-the-art electric motorcycle assembly plant exemplifies Kenya's determination to embrace a more sustainable future while fostering technological advancement and economic prosperity for its citizens through investment in local production of electric mobility solutions.

Situated overlooking the Nairobi National Park, Roam's impressive 10,000 square meter facility boasts the title of being the largest electric motorcycle assembly plant in East Africa.

With an annual production capacity of 50,000 units, which is expected to be reached in the near future, the facility fulfils the shared vision to revolutionize urban mobility through electric motorcycles, particularly in the motorcycle taxi sector known as boda bodas and other logistics industries.

During the inauguration, President Ruto and key government officials were given an exclusive tour of Roam Park's production floor, battery labs, and witnessed the company's strong commitment to worker safety and local production focus.

In his speech at the ceremony, Ruto commended Roam's efforts towards advancing Kenya's sustainability agenda through the company's electric motorcycles, known as the Roam Air.

He expressed confidence in the facility's ability to drive innovation and foster economic resilience.

"I am proud to inaugurate Roam's electric motorcycle assembly plant today. This facility showcases Kenya's potential as a leader in clean transportation solutions in Africa," Ruto stated.

This initiative aligns perfectly with our national goals to reduce carbon emissions and promote clean energy alternatives.

The assembly plant will not only contribute to our environmental goals but also foster economic growth by creating job opportunities and nurturing local talent in the automotive industry."

Roam, a technology company founded in 2017, has been at the forefront of developing, designing, and deploying electric vehicles tailored for the African continent.

It became the first company to deliver locally produced electric motorcycles and buses, and with 200 employees, it is now the leading provider of electric vehicles in Africa.

Roam's efforts were recently recognized when the company became a finalist in Prince William's Earth Shot Prize.

The inauguration of Roam Park marks a significant milestone in Kenya's journey towards a greener and more sustainable future, demonstrating the nation's commitment to cleaner transportation and innovation in the automotive sector.

With Roam's impressive capacity to produce electric motorcycles, Kenya is poised to lead the way in East Africa's transition to sustainable transport, setting an example for the region to follow.
