In a bid to transform communities and promote sustainable development, Safaricom Foundation has announced successfully equipped eight educational institutions and two healthcare facilities in five counties of the Rift Valley including Kericho, Baringo, Nandi, Bomet, and Narok.

With a total investment of Sh8.6 million, these projects aim to uplift the quality of education and healthcare services, benefiting thousands of Kenyans.

Nandi County witnessed significant improvements in its educational infrastructure thanks to the support of Safaricom Foundation.

Kitaor Primary School received funding for the construction of an Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) block and two-door latrines.

These facilities will alleviate classroom congestion and improve sanitary conditions for the students.

St. John’s Chepkunyuk Mixed Secondary School also saw positive changes with the construction and equipping of a modern kitchen, which will enhance the overall school environment.

In Narok County, Kiletien Gaa Primary School underwent transformative changes with the addition of two newly-constructed and equipped classrooms, along with a 10,000-litre water tank.

This development will create a conducive learning environment for the students, offering better access to clean water.

Furthermore, the Narok Vocational and Training Centre received bakery equipment, enabling students to enhance their skills in Food and Beverage courses, opening up new opportunities for their future.

Bomet County welcomed the establishment of a well-equipped school laboratory at Kapsimbiri Secondary School, enhancing the practical learning experiences of students.

Similarly, the Kaplelach Community Dispensary received hospital laboratory equipment through the Ndoto Zetu initiative, improving healthcare services in the area.


Kipkelion Special School in Kericho County received a significant boost with the provision of special unit furniture.

This furniture will enhance the learning standards for students living with disabilities, enabling them to learn comfortably and participate fully in educational activities.

Additionally, Kabitungu Secondary School acquired computers, empowering students with digital skills necessary for the modern world.

Baringo County experienced improvements in healthcare facilities, as Kiptaiwa Dispensary received assorted medical equipment for conducting medical tests.

The provision of these resources will significantly enhance the quality of healthcare services offered to the local community.

Kasirma Primary School also benefited from Safaricom Foundation's support, with the provision of desks and chairs, creating a comfortable and conducive learning environment for the students.

Safaricom Foundation, through its Ndoto Zetu initiative, has demonstrated its commitment to positively impacting the lives of Kenyans.
