Listed superfoods grower and exporter Kakuzi has appointed city lawyer Pamella Ager as an independent board member and director.
Kakuzi says the appointment of Ager is meant to improve its corporate governance and board diversity standards.
Ager is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and is has a wide experience as a corporate legal practitioner and serves as Managing Partner at the Oraro & Company Advocates.
Kakuzi Chairperson Nicholas Ng’ang’a says she joined the Board effective April 1, 2023 as part of the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) listed firm’s pledge to boost the Board’s diversity.
“Over the years, Kakuzi Plc has been actively working to adopt world-class corporate governance standards. We have made commendable progress by adopting several operating policies,” said Ng’ang’a.

Ager holds a First Class Honours Masters of Law Degree from Auckland University and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Waikato in Hamilton, New Zealand.
The advocate also holds a diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
She is a member of the Institute of Directors (Kenya), a member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), East African Law Society and Commonwealth Lawyers Association.
She further sits on various boards for education and non-profit organisations.
