AAR Insurance on Tuesday launched an Innovation Hub seeking to improve customer value propositions and to harness ideas to deliver creative solutions that tap into the needs of customers and stakeholders.

The regional Innovation Hub dubbed AAR 3.0, which is located at the AAR Insurance headquarters in Upperhill, Nairobi County, is the first of its kind in the industry and has already produced one product.

Speaking during the launch, AAR Group CEO Dr Patrick Gatonga indicated that the initiative is only one of many in the pipeline as the insurance firm prepares to commemorate its 40th anniversary next year.

“We are deliberate about reinventing the insurance space to increase penetration; and in collaboration with various stakeholders. We believe this is achievable through the innovation of affordable and sustainable solutions while guaranteeing value for all our stakeholders,” said Dr Gatonga.

Dr Gatonga welcomed like-minded partners to partner with AAR Insurance as it shifts its focus to a more customer-centric and inclusive innovation path.

AAR Insurance Head of Strategy and Innovation Wesly Too says the company is focusing its energies on the delivery of affordable and accessible innovative underwriting solutions conveniently to all its clients.

“Our focus is on underserved markets as we re-align our service offerings to meet the ever-growing needs of consumers in a heavily competitive digital market,” said Too.

He added, “Therefore, through our newly launched innovation hub, we will create and foster new digital automated insurance products, making insurance services accessible, easy to use, meaningful and affordable across all households in the East Africa region.”
