Local superfoods producer Kakuzi showcased its marketing diversification plan during the Avocado Society of Kenya expo held at Gen Matenjagwo Stadium in Kandara Constituency, Murang’a County.

The ceremony brought together avocado farmers from Murang’a County who interacted with various growers and shared knowledge on avocado production, marketing and export.

Kakuzi’s participation in this year’s Avocado Society of Kenya expo was driven by the firm’s endeavor to showcase its market diversification plan that is targeting the Kenyan market.

According to the superfoods company, the move seeks to support local avocado farmers and also provide Kenyan consumers with affordable and high-quality avocados.

Kakuzi’s expansion into local markets is part of its strategy to improve the livelihoods of Kenyan farmers and communities in the regions in which it operates.

The agribusiness firm has actively taken part in the county farmers’ expos since 2017 and provided expertise on avocado production and marketing to farmers and other stakeholders.

"We are delighted to attend the Murang'a County Avocado Farmers Expo once again. This event provides an excellent platform for us to interact with farmers and other stakeholders in the avocado industry and share our knowledge and expertise,” said Kakuzi MD Chris Flowers.

He added, “We also see it as an opportunity to market ourselves as an exporter and learn from other stakeholders.”
