The Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Airport was awarded Africa's Leading Airport Hotel 2021 for the fourth consecutive year at the recently concluded 28th annual World Travel Awards.

The winners were unveiled on Thursday for the African continent and Indian Ocean territories.

This is the first accolade for the hotel by WTA added to the growing list of awards it has already bagged including Best Airport Hotel, Africa 2018, 2019, 2020 at the International Hotel Awards.

The award comes during the pandemic characterized by diminished travel and an adverse effect on the hospitality industry.

The 2021 period of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic experienced an 81 per cent drop in arrivals in the country compared to the same period in 2019 – UNWTO July’21 Report.

The hotel says the award remains a testament to the hotel’s commitment to consistently maintain standards, deliver a high level of health and safety to its guests and employees.

The World Travel Awards is recognized as a leading authority that recognizes and rewards excellence in travel and tourism globally and is a hallmark of industry excellence.

Despite Covid19, the WTA has recorded unprecedented levels of voting in this year’s awards.

In 2019, a reported 1,945,965 votes were cast, a 17 per cent increase on the previous year’s record.

In 2020, a record 2,033,494 votes were cast, with more people taking part than in any other year of WTA's 28-year history, a huge vote of confidence for the travel and tourism industry.

The Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Airport is a 172-room hotel located strategically inside the JKIA Complex, and was officially opened in October 2017.

The hotel’s amenities include multi-functional meeting and event spaces, a dedicated business lounge all-day dining restaurant, pool bar and grill, coffee lounge, rooftop pool, gym and spa.

Guests at the hotel have a vantage view of the airport runway and the Nairobi National Park.
