NCBA Bank on Tuesday unveiled its new branch design at the Sarit Centre in Westlands, Nairobi featuring modern technology and a customized branch design.

The Sarit branch is the bank’s 70th branch in Kenya after a rationalization programme launched in June this year that resulted in merging of 14 branches that were located in the same area.

The new branch integrates environmentally-friendly aspects including digital displays, energy efficient lighting, automated doors and antimicrobial material to minimize Covid-19 spread.

NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora lauded the opening of the new branch saying it was in line within the group’s ambition to grow its retail network across the country.

“This branch will enable NCBA to serve more customers and also offer them greater convenience,” said Gachora.

The MD noted that the group’s earlier plans to open 10 more branches within the year were adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic forcing the bank to revise its growth strategy.

“Out of the 10 proposed new branches, Sarit Centre branch will be the only new branch opened in 2020. We remain optimistic that once the economy begins to recover, we will roll out this expansion strategy as earlier envisioned,” added Gachora.

NCBA Group Director, Retail Banking, Tirus Mwithiga said the refreshed look will first be rolled out in other parts of the country over the next couple of years.
