Kenyans can now browse the internet for as little as Sh20 an hour after Safaricom unveiled B-Live, a time-based bundle that offers continuous connectivity for fixed durations.

The new package provides three options: one hour at Sh20, three hours at Sh50, and six hours at Sh150.

Safaricom explained that the bundles are designed to complement its existing data plans by giving customers the flexibility to stay online without worrying about how many megabytes or gigabytes they are consuming.

The company noted that the plan caters to a wide range of needs, from students taking online lessons to professionals working remotely and content creators uploading material.

According to the safaricom, the bundles were designed to suit people whose internet use is best measured by time rather than data size.

Chief Consumer Business Officer at Safaricom PLC, Fawzia Ali-Kimanthi, said the innovation reflects the company’s recognition of different user preferences.

"We recognise that our customers are different. Some prefer managing their usage in MBs or GBs, while others simply want to enjoy the internet for a set period of time," Fawzia stated.

"By adding this option, we’re putting control back in the hands of our customers and enabling them to focus on what matters most, whether that’s learning, creating, connecting, or hustling."

The service is available through *544# or *555#, giving subscribers immediate access to the hourly bundles.

Safaricom emphasised that B-Live builds on its broader goal of empowering Kenyans to shape their digital lifestyle by choosing plans that fit their daily routines.

Safaricom noted that the introduction of B-Live expands the menu of data choices available to its subscribers, making it possible for users in different walks of life to decide whether they prefer time-based browsing or the conventional data bundles.
