Millions of consumers are expected to log on to the Jumia App to leverage online sales during this year's Black Friday.

This is the company’s 7th Black Friday, which aims to support businesses by reaching more consumers on the platform.

Jumia Black Friday will be in partnership with Transsion Holdings (Infinix, TECNO & itel) as Platinum sponsors and other brand partners like Vision Plus, Xiaomi, Beefeater, Nivea, Garnier, and Gordons.

Jumia CEO Juan Seco said this year’s Black Friday is going to be unique given the challenging business environment and biting economic times.

He expressed the company’s gratitude to Kenyan businesses taking part in this year’s Black Friday and for offering the best deals to their consumers, which reaffirms Jumia’s commitment to the future of online retail in the country.

“This year’s Black Friday is unique given the challenging business environment for our sellers as difficult economic times persist,” Seco said.

“We are grateful to the thousands of Kenyan businesses participating in this event and their efforts to offer the best deals to consumers. This also re-affirms Jumia’s commitment to the future of online retail in Kenya.”

The annual sales event, which was started in Kenya in 2015 by Jumia, continues to gain popularity amongst Kenyans.

Such campaigns have largely contributed to the adoption of e-commerce countrywide through massive awareness.

Transsion Holdings’ Kenya Regional MD said Ray Fang said his firm was excited to be part of this year’s Black Friday event and told assured consumers of their latest products.

“We are happy to be part of this year’s Jumia Black Friday, where consumers can expect great deals on our latest products which include TECNO, Infinix, and itel brands,” Fang said.
