Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested two police officers linked to a bank robbery that took place at Prime Bank, Nairobi on Monday afternoon.  

According to DCI, the two cops are being interrogated by its detectives after they also lost two firearms with a total of 60 rounds of ammunition during the bank heist in the city.

Late on Monday night, detectives managed to recover the two guns which had been reportedly dropped by a motorbike pillion passenger outside Kiambu Hospital’s gate, shortly before the motorbike sped off into the darkness, according to DCI.

DCI also revealed that the cashier at the bank located on Mombasa Road was also apprehended and is currently assisting with the investigation into the brazen robbery.

The Directorate added that one security guard was injured on the right arm during the incident, which saw the robbers make away with an unspecified sum of money from Prime Bank.
