Motorists in Kenya will have to pay more at the pump after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) on Thursday hiked fuel prices in the latest review. 

EPRA said the prices of Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene for the next 30 days will from Friday midnight go up by Sh0.17, Sh4.57 and Sh3.56 a litre respectively.

The new prices will be effective from midnight until February 14 and will see car fueling become a tad costlier for the next month as Kenyans grapple with a tough January dubbed ‘Njaanuary’. 

According to EPRA, the hiked prices are due to increased weighted average cost of imported refined petroleum products.

Last month’s review, super petrol retailed at the pump for Sh106.82, Diesel at Sh91.82 and Kerosene Sh83.56 in Nairobi.

According to the new prices, the maximum pump prices allowed in Mombasa County is Sh104.60, Sh94.01 and Sh84.75 for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene respectively. 

In Nakuru, Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will retail for Sh106.69, Sh96.31 and Sh87.08 respectively while in Eldoret, Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will be sold at Sh107.62, Sh97.23 and Sh88 respectively. 

In Kisumu, the pump prices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene have been set at Sh107.61, Sh97.23 and Sh87.99 respectively.
