The Kenya Railways Corporation announced on Tuesday that travellers can now move between Nairobi and Kisumu at night on their trains.

This was after the company introduced a train service that will leave Nairobi at 6:30 pm and arrive at Kisumu at 6:30 am while another train will leave Kisumu at 6:30 pm and arrive at the Nairobi station at 6:30 am.

The corporation announced the commencement of the night travel on the Nairobi-Kisumu railway line via a statement they shared on their social media accounts.

According to the notice, the night travel services will be offered twice a week; on Fridays and Sundays starting Friday.

Kenya Railways relaunched train services on the Nairobi-Kisumu railway line in December 2021 after over a decade since the railway ceased to operate following the dilapidation of the railway line.

Travellers on board trains plying the Kisumu route have the privilege of enjoying free Wi-Fi during the long journey to and from the lakeside city of Kisumu.
