The price of petrol per litre has gone up by Sh0.97 to Sh106.82 in Nairobi, while that of diesel also rose by Sh1.12 to Sh91.82 and that of kerosene also went up by Sh1.93 to 83.56. 

The new prices of petroleum commodities announced by the Energy and Petroleum Regulation Authority (EPRA) took effect from midnight Tuesday and will remain until January 14 midnight.

The rise in prices of petroleum products was due to a slight jump in the global prices per barrel in November, in the new prices that will see motorists pay higher for fuel until mid-January.  

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has on Monday announced new super petrol, diesel and kerosene prices.

EPRA director-general Pavel Oimeke said the changes resulted from the average landed cost of imported super petrol which rose by 0.65 per cent from $316.64 per cubic meter in October to $ 318.71 per cubic meter in November.

The revised prices include an 8 per cent VAT in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2018.
