Hemingways Expeditions also part of the Hemingways Group, emerged as Kenya’s Leading Destination Management Company at the awards.

World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries.

This year, World Travel Awards celebrates its 28th anniversary. Its annual programme is renowned as the most prestigious and comprehensive in the global industry.

Each year World Travel Awards™ covers the globe with its Grand Tour–a series of regional gala ceremonies to recognise excellence within each continent, culminating in a Grand Final at the end of the year

The voting process is online and supported by a year-long communications campaign encouraging global participation. The votes come from qualified executives working within travel and tourism and the consumer travel buyer.

Speaking while acknowledging the awards, Hemingways Group CEO Ross Evans said it is an honour for the company to receive international recognition for its contribution to the Kenyan Hospitality industry.

"It is an honour to have Hemingways Watamu and Hemingways Expeditions selected as leaders in their respective categories. To us, this win endorses our commitment to excellence in service delivery and it resonates with our commitment to our guests and the Kenyan hospitality and travel industry," Ross said.
