The long-serving Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA), Samuel Lerionka Tiampati, has opted for an early exit from the company.

Tiampati applied for an early exit before the lapse of his contract and was effective on September 9, 2021.

The KTDA board approved Tiampati's application to exit last week.

Tiampati was on compulsory leave prior to his exit and Wilson Muthaura was acting in his capacity.

Before Tiampati joined KTDA as the Managing Director in 2004, he served as the CEO of Tea Packers Limited (KETEPA), a KTDA majority-owned tea packing subsidiary company.
