Leading online jobs platform BrighterMonday is marking 15 years in Kenya and says it has helped more than 40,000 businesses to hire staff and millions of job-seekers to get hired.

BrighterMonday says that in that period it has leveraged data and artificial intelligence to help thousands of people in Kenya to secure job opportunities through the online platform.

According to BrighterMonday CEO Emmanuel Mutuma, the Kenyan market has embraced automation of hiring and job search process allowing businesses to hire more efficiently.

“Since 2006, BrighterMonday has built digital solutions that have accelerated the recruitment space in Kenya, resulting in a more seamless hiring process and improving the quality of candidates businesses recruit,” Mutuma said.

He added, “With the support of stakeholders, we have helped over 40,000 employers access the right candidates, in an efficient and reliable way. Moreover, we have over 1.2 million professionals in our database with over 5,000 people getting jobs through the platform on an annual basis.”

He said BrighterMonday conducts research on the employment sector to enable businesses make more informed hiring decisions and help jobseekers identify trending skills to better position themselves for employment to further augment the digital labour market in Kenya.

“We collaborate with partners through our business intelligence team to conduct relevant research in the market and inform the public on specifics that can inform business decisions and professional development. For instance, when Covid-19 hit the country, disrupting businesses and employment, we developed a report on the impact of the pandemic on the job sector, providing insights on what steps those affected can take to survive,” he added.
