Keroche Breweries has launched a new beer targeting the high-end market which is largely dominated by foreign alcoholic brands.

Keroche unveiled X beer, touted as sugar-free, at its Naivasha plant on Tuesday in an event graced by its top distributors and retailers.

Keroche CEO Tabitha Karanja, during the launch, said X beer is part of the firm’s strategies to expand its share in the market to 20 per cent.

 “The quality of brand X and its richness is unmatched in the present market. It is targeted at the middle and upper-end market,” said Tabitha.

Keroche Breweries was established by Tabitha and her husband Joseph Karanja over 20 years back and produces a variety of brands.

The launch comes two months after Keroche launched the Vienna Ice Strong Lager amid tough times for bars due to Covid-19 restrictions.

 Beer X has an 8.8 per cent alcohol content and will retail at Sh250.
