Motorists across the country will have dig deeper into their pockets for another month after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) hiked petrol prices for the third time in a month.

Motorists in Nairobi will from midnight tonight purchase super petrol at an extra Sh0.72 per litre while diesel consumers will buy at Sh2.18 per litre less in the latest price EPRA review.

The pump price of kerosene will remain unchanged in the prices that will take effect Wednesday at midnight until November 14 midnight.

Super petrol will retail in Nairobi at Sh107.27 up from Sh106.55, diesel at Sh92.91 down from Sh95.09 while the price of kerosene remains unchanged at Sh83.73.

According to the statement by EPRA Director General Pavel Oimeke, the prices incorporate an eight per cent VAT in accordance with provisions of the Finance Act 2018.

The authority said the October revised prices have considered the differences in the landed costs of the imported fuel products.

Wednesday’s is the second price revision in October and third in a month after EPRA hiked fuel costs on October 1 due to adjustment excise tax charged by Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).

In the October 1 price review, petrol prices went up by Sh1.12 and those of diesel and kerosene costs increased by 58 cents.
